Three four-crew rowing boats competing on the River Medway

About

The Maidstone Small Boats Autumn Head is a timetrial competition for racing rowing boats, held on the River Medway between Allington Marina and the centre of Maidstone.

The competition is split into four separate divisions, each one taking around 40 minutes, starting at 09.15am with the final division at 2.30pm. Each division comprises around 40 boats from single scullers up to crew boats containing four rowers, and we generally get around 300 competitors, aged from 14 up to over 70.

The competition is part of the British Rowing racing calendar and is open to affiliated rowing clubs from the south east and London.

The race is based at the Maidstone Invicta Rowing Club boathouse on James Whatman Way and there is easy access for the public to spectate from the towpath.
