Inspiration

  1. Museums and Galleries in and Around Maidstone
Maidstone's main museum is full of interesting artifacts from local dinosaur discoveries, to local history and to collections from the South Pacific and Japan. The specialist Museum are worth exploring too.
  2. Field of goats at Buttercup Goat Sanctuary
2020 Opening updates For the time being the sanctuary is opening just four days a week, Thursdays – Sundays. 11am-- 4pm, entrance by donation, sanitisers on entry and exit, which are separate.   Tea room and Stable area are out of bounds but take away drinks are available over the gate and a separate area where the public can safely feed the goats.   As time goes on we will update our website accordingly, as we are able to open for additional days.     We start the “Walking with Goats Experience “ from the 11th July, spending an hour and a half walking a goat round the Sanctuary grounds., booking is required and details are again on the web site.

  3. Leeds Castle moat in the early morning mist.
Visitors never forget their first breath-taking vision of Leeds Castle in Kent, rising majestically from the moat as it has done for over 900 years.

  4. Vineyards and Wineries
The best of Kent's Vineyards and Wineries welcome visitors. It is not possible to visit all of these in one day, so a stay is recommended, so that you have a chance to explore some of these fantastic vineyards.
  5. Shopping
Maidstone is a great place to do some shopping or a little retail therapy. There is a good selection of High Street stores but an impressive collection of independent shops, with great customer care and product knowledge. There are four in town shopping centres and out of town shopping as well.
