Visitors never forget their first breath-taking vision of Leeds Castle in Kent, rising majestically from the moat as it has done for over 900 years. With 500 acres of beautiful parkland and formal gardens, daily events and year round attractions, it’s not just the glorious history of Leeds Castle that will ensure you want to come back time and time again.

Leeds Castle has been a Norman stronghold; the private property of six of England’s medieval queens; a palace used by Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon; a Jacobean country house; a Georgian mansion and an elegant early 20th century retreat.

There are many attractions to see at Leeds Castle from the beautiful English cottage style Culpeper Garden to the Lady Baillie Mediterranean Garden, maze and grotto, falconry demonstrations, shops, children’s’ playgrounds, punting and much more.

Leeds Castle also offers five holiday cottages, 17 luxury bed and breakfast bedrooms and five bedrooms in the Maiden’s Tower as well as eight Medieval Glamping tents.  In addition, twenty luxury bedrooms, ranging from battlement bedrooms to state rooms, can be booked as part of a private event within the 900-year old castle.

New exhibition spaces include; The Gatehouse, an exhibition on the history of the Castle and the Exhibition Centre, which will display temporary exhibitions, including the Dog Collar Collection.

Leeds Castle is located near Maidstone in Kent just off Junction 8 of the M20 and only one hour’s drive from London.

Special Offers

What could be more romantic than to invite your special Valentine to enjoy an intimate dinner at “the loveliest castle in the world”. To add to the perfection of the evening, consider staying overnight in one of the luxurious Castle bedrooms and waking to views across the misty moat.

On arrival you will be treated to a private tour around the Castle after it closes to the public for the day and given a glimpse into the glamorous world of the last private owner, Olive, Lady Baillie, a world which you too will experience during your evening.

Chilled sparkling wine awaits you in the Library and then the Butler will call for a delicious three-course candlelit dinner to be served in the Henry VIII Banqueting Hall. Whilst you enjoy a carefully chosen menu using luxurious ingredients, soak up the romantic atmosphere as a harpist plays and enjoy a bottle of wine at your table for two. Relax with coffee and chocolates after dinner in the Library and for those staying overnight, retire at your leisure. Awake the following morning to a full English breakfast in the Castle Dining Room.

Private Castle tour, evening drinks, three-course dinner: £270 per couple.
Accommodation and dinner package: State Bedrooms £245; Battlement Bedrooms £195
