Exhibition Details
Creative Maidstone is delighted to share the opportunity of a selling exhibition at our community arts hub on Gabriel's Hill, close to the shops and High Street of the historic market town of Maidstone, Kent, UK.
We are looking for artists to exhibit with us in the lead up to Christmas with artwork priced under £250.
We welcome artists of any medium who are based anywhere, as long as you can drop off and collect artworks in Maidstone in person. Our venue is situated within a pedestrianised zone from 10:30am to 5:30pm, however ample parking is available nearby.
Creative Maidstone will invigilate the exhibition, take care of all artworks and sell artworks on behalf of the artists for a 20% (+VAT) commission rate. Creative Maidstone will not charge any other costs to artists apart from the sales commission.
Creative Maidstone will be invigilating the exhibition; however, please let us know if you would also be interested in helping invigilate at any point over the exhibition.
Artwork requirements
Artwork drop off: 3rd – 8th November
Please note if artwork is delivered and does not meet the following requirements it will not be accepted into the exhibition
Canvases and framed work:
Must be already prepared for hanging with D-rings or hanging wire and be structurally sound; any unsafely framed works will not be hung for fear of damage
All artworks must be packaged as you would want them stored as well as being clearly labelled on the back with your full name, the name of the artwork, medium and the prices. If the work is Abstract please indicate the correct way up for display.
Ceramics or other free-standing sculptural work:
We have a museum standard glass display case that can accommodate artwork up to 25cm high x 115cm wide x 65cm deep
At present, we can’t supply plinths for 3-dimensional works however if you have your own plinths to display work, please let us know, and we would be happy to display them
All sculptures must be structurally sound and not precariously balanced when displayed
You will be informed of which pieces have been accepted if you are selected to exhibit. If artworks are sold at the exhibition, the artist may be contacted to replace them with more artworks.
Artwork collection:
Any unsold artworks will be available for collection once the exhibition is closed, on the following dates. Please contact us if you have any issues with collecting within these times.
