Studios at Creative Maidstone
All our studios are offered as unfurnished units so you can tailor the layout to suit your own specific needs. They are to be used solely for creative and artistic endeavours (i.e. not as office space) and must be used for a minimum of 20hrs per month.
Studios 1 – 4 are ‘incubator’ spaces aimed at fledgling artists/makers (practising professionally for less than 2 years prior to taking the space). These studios can be occupied for a maximum of 2 years.
Studios 5 – 7 are 'accelerator' spaces for established artists/makers. These studios are available for a minimum 6 month term and can be occupied for a maximum of 2 years.
Business Support
We want to help you establish/grow your creative practice. Studio hirers will benefit from FREE business support provided by our Economic Development team and Let’s Do Business.
Initially you will be invited to meet with our Business Advisor who can help you draw up a business plan (if appropriate) and ensure you are ready to take on a studio. As your practice grows, you will be able to access additional support and guidance and you’ll automatically be invited to all the networking events, and business support workshops on offer.
Community Commitment
We are keen to build a vibrant creative community at the Hub and ask all our studio hirers to contribute a minimum of one hour per month as part of their Studio Agreement.
This could take the form of delivering a public workshop, working in the retail area, or another activity that supports the life of the Hub (e.g. cleaning and tidying, painting, DIY, helping at events, etc.)
You are obviously welcome to contribute more hours if you wish!
