Sandole Barn

About

Sandhole Barn provides a comfortable and convenient base, whether you are looking for a relaxing short break in the peace and quiet of the Kent countryside, or a longer stay exploring the many local attractions.

The ground floor accommodation provides easy access. Two bedrooms; one double, one twin bedded. There is a pretty, private garden for breakfast outdoors, or to unwind at the end of the day. Ample parking located next to the property.

Close by is Leybourne Lakes Country Park with quiet lakeside walks, and a footpath to the North Downs passes by the property.

There is a wide choice of pubs and restaurants, particularly in the attractive village of West Malling.

With Your Safety in Mind

  • with your safety in mind

At Sandhole Barn we want to reassure you that we are doing all we can to ensure your stay with us is as safe as possible.

Cleanliness has always been very important to us. Every year we are inspected by VisitEngland. The inspection process rightly considers cleanliness an important aspect of the four star rating we receive – a copy of the 2019 assessment is in the property file. In addition this year we are following the VisitEngland ’We’re good to go’ standard, and also Mulberry Cottages ‘Safer stays’ standard, which take into account additional measures to reduce risks from Covid-19.

Steps we are taking are:

  1. Pre-arrival
  1. We have put in place a 72 hour gap between bookings. This will minimise the risk of virus contamination remaining on hard surfaces, and allow time for extra cleaning processes.
  2. Cleaning will prioritise areas such as door handles, remote controls, coat-hangers and other high-use areas.
  3. PPE will be worn when cleaning. Cleaning products are anti-viral and disinfectant.
  4. Hair dryers, cushions and rugs have been removed from the property. Extra pillows have also been removed, but can be supplied on request.
  5. Other items such as books, DVDs, and kitchen equipment are retained, but guests are warned that these items cannot be fully disinfected and cleaned for each stay.
  6. Bed-linen, and towels will be washed at min. 60 degrees, and shower curtain changed between stays.

  1. Arrival and social distancing
  1. The owner will continue to meet guests, but will maintain social distancing, and wear face-mask if requested. Hand sanitiser offered on arrival. Apart from check-in and leaving, there will be no other face-to-face contact during the stay unless requested. Where bookings last longer than 7 days, clean change of bedding provided but guests asked to make up beds themselves to reduce contact.
  2. Guests are asked to communicate with owner by email, phone or text if required. No other staff are employed, and the property is detached with no near neighbours or passers-by.
  3. On arrival/departure, guests are asked to sign to confirm that no-one in their party is displaying any signs or symptoms of Covid-19. This will be retained in confidence for 21 days, but may be provided to NHS Test and Trace if required.
  4. Keys to the property will be disinfected between stays, and kept in sealed envelope for next guest.
  5. Welcome packs will continue to be provided. Surfaces of all items will be wiped down with disinfectant wipes and placed in property 72 hours before guests check in.

  1. During your stay
  1. Hand sanitisers, disinfectant spray and paper towels are provided in the property for guest use.
  2. Guests recommended to make full use of dishwasher to ensure items thoroughly washed at high temperatures.
  3. We hope that these additional steps will give you peace of mind to go ahead and enjoy your stay at Sandhole Barn.
