Join us for a day of celebrations as part of Black History Month

The activities will start in Jubilee Square 

10.30am: Welcome by the Mayor of Maidstone, Cllr Brian Clark

10.30am - 11am: Listen to the steel pans and have fun dressing up in a Carnival costume

11am - 11.45: Performance by Tanga Pasi

11.45am - 12.15pm: Performance by the Samba Girls and another chance to try on some Carnival outfits

12.15pm - 12.30pm: 'Carnival' procession from Jubilee Square to the bottom of Gabriel's Hill

12.30pm - 1pm: Short break for lunch before the celebrations begin again, this time in Gabriel's Hill (or inside Creative Maidstone Community Arts Hub if the weather is bad)

1pm - 1.30pm: Another chance to hear the steel pans

1.30pm - 2.15pm: Performance by Tanga Pasi

2.15pm - 3.30pm: Enjoy a Samba workshop at Creative Maidstone and dance the afternoon away!

3.30pm: Finish
