The Little Old Toll House Cafe, at Allington Lock on the River Medway

A glorious little cafe, right beside Allington Lock.  It has stylish and comfortable chairs, with a choice of cushions.  You can sit under the trees on the lock side in the shade or out in the sun.  There is no indoor seating but the outside is so lovely you wouldn't want to sit inside everything is alfresco.  Teas and coffees come in stylish mugs and taste great.  Paninis, sandwiches and cakes are all freshly made and completely delicious.

To find it walk north along the river bank from Kent Life or the Malta Inn or the Premier Inn and cross over the weir toward the little island in the middle of the River Medway.  This is where this little cafe is situated, on an island right in the middle of the river.  There is no car parking on this site.

If you have walked or cycled here then it is a great refreshment stop.

It is only open during the summer months.  It opens around 10am and closes around 4pm but is slightly weather dependent.eside
