Maidstone Museum and Kent Archaeological Society (KAS) invite you to …

… a day of archaeology and community as part of the Council for British Archaeology’s annual Festival of Archaeology!

Join us on Saturday 2nd August for a fun and creative family day.

10am – 3pm

Free Event

Pop the date in your diary and join us for ……

  • Dig up a real find
  • Tour of Lives in Our Landscape by our Youth Group, Cur8, at 11am and 2pm (maximum 1 hr, meet at Main Reception)
  • A chance to meet with archaeologists from Maidstone Area Archaeological Society (MAAG)
  • Handle amazing objects from the past
  • Mould a Roman oil lamp
  • Create brass rubbings
  • Follow the archaeology trail and claim your prize
  • Meet Emily from Enabled Archaeology Foundation
  • Bring in your finds to be identified by a KAS expert.

Archaeology trail around the museum – £2 per person, includes pen and badge prize.  Limited edition badge.  Available at the main reception desk.
