Competition Terms and Conditions

1. Maidstone Borough Council are offering

A one night stay with breakfast at the Orida Hotel Maidstone and a one night stay with breakfast at the Holiday Inn Maidstone - Sevenoaks, both on a chosen date between 15 - 24 March 2024 as part of the Heart of Kent Walking Festival. (This is subject to availability).

2. As part of both of the two prizes we are able to offer a complimentary walk of the winners choice and that will need to be identified during the entry process. Please choose from the selected walks on the competition page.

The competition closes at 23:59 on Sunday 3 March 2024. Entries received after this date won’t be entered into the prize draw.

2. The prize draw is open to all residents of mainland England, Scotland and Wales aged 18 or over (excluding Maidstone Borough Council employees, and members of the Council). Only one competition entry per participant is allowed, Maidstone Borough Council reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants.

3. Entry to the competition is free. No purchase is necessary.

4. Prizes must be taken as stated and cannot be deferred or substituted for other prizes.

5. All prizes are subject to availability.

6. Maidstone Borough Council does not accept any responsibility for late or lost entries. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.

7. The two winners of the prize draw will be selected at random from all eligible entries received. The draw will take place on Monday 4 March at 10am and will be conducted by a member of the Visit Maidstone team. The winner will be notified on the Draw Date directly by the Council using the details supplied.  

8. Prizes are awarded conditionally upon acceptance and if a winner of any prize cannot be contacted, or if any prize remains unclaimed, another winner shall be drawn from the pool of entrants, if enough time remains to do so.

9. By entering the prize draw, entrants agree to participate in any reasonable publicity arranged by or on behalf of us including photographs.

10. Maidstone Borough Council reserves the right to alter or cancel a competition or competition prize at any stage, if deemed necessary in their opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of their control.

11. The decision of Maidstone Borough Council on all matters relating to and arising out of this prize draw shall be final.

12. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook or any other social network. You are providing your information to Maidstone Borough Council and not to any other party. The information provided will be used in conjunction with the following Privacy Policy.

13. All other extra’s, incl drinks consumed during the overnight stay must be paid for on departure. The Orida Hotel Maidstone's and The Holiday Inn Maidstone - Sevenoaks's booking conditions apply.

Any information that you provide is not stored on our database and we will not add you to our mailing list unless you request it.

We guarantee that any information you provide to us will not be passed on to third parties without your permission and that we will only use your data for the purpose(s) intended.
