In this solo exhibition, Maidstone-based artist Jane Burdett, presented a striking new body of work.
Entirely self-taught, Jane began her artistic journey exploring fluid art, developing a distinctive style defined by movement, colour, and organic flow. Her practice has since evolved to incorporate richly textured floral paintings, created using a palette knife, bringing depth, structure, and a tactile quality to her work.
This latest exhibition brought together both strands of her practice — from vibrant, expressive abstracts to immersive coastal pieces inspired by her frequent walks along the Kent coastline. Her work moves between tranquillity and intensity, from serene horizons and flowing seas to dramatic, atmospheric seascapes that capture the shifting moods of the water.
