Affordable Studio Space for Artists and Makers
Our seven artist studios are designed for creative and artistic work. Each studio is offered unfurnished, giving you the flexibility to arrange the space around your own practice and working methods.
Studios are approximately 7m² and are available at an affordable rate, with utilities included in the rent.
The studios are intended for creative and artistic activities rather than general office use. Studio holders must use their studio for a minimum of 20 hours per month.
Artist Studio Rental
Studios are available on a quarterly basis during the first year and on six-month terms thereafter.

A £50 refundable deposit is required. Studio rent is payable monthly in advance by direct debit.

Creative Maidstone is designed to help artists develop their creative practice and connect with other people working in the creative sector.
As a studio holder, you can benefit from:
- Free business support from the Economic Development team and Let's Do Business
- A meeting with a Business Advisor when you take on a studio
- Business planning advice and guidance
- Invitations to networking events
- Access to business support workshops
- Opportunities to showcase and sell your work
- Connections with other artists and creatives at Creative Maidstone
You will also have opportunities to take part in the wider life of the Hub.
Join the Creative Community
We want Creative Maidstone to be a vibrant and supportive community for artists, makers and local people.
Studio holders contribute at least one hour each month to support the Hub. This could include helping at an event, supporting activities in the retail area, delivering a public workshop or helping with practical tasks.
You can contribute more if you wish and get involved in the many activities taking place at Creative Maidstone.
Showcase and Sell Your Work
Having a studio at Creative Maidstone gives you opportunities to introduce your work to new audiences.
Studio holders can access preferential rates for our exhibition space, providing an opportunity to showcase their artwork in a dedicated exhibition setting.
You can also test the market by displaying products in our Retail Zone, with a free three-month trial available to studio holders.

Creative Workshops and Community Activities
Creative Maidstone is also home to a bright and welcoming Workshop Zone, where we run creative workshops and classes for adults and children.

Our studios are currently available to residents of the Maidstone Borough.
They are suitable for artists and makers working across a range of creative disciplines, provided the studio is used for creative or artistic purposes.
