Mote Park

Mote Park

Award Winning Park for all to Enjoy

What's On In June

We start the month at the end of a half term break, but there are still plenty of events and activities to look forward to over the coming weeks.

There are theatrical delights for younger audiences, including an outdoor theatre production of The Reluctant Dragon in Mote Park, while the Elves and the Shoemaker come to the Hazlitt Theatre.

We also welcome Peter Andre and Germaine Greer to the Hazlitt Theatre this month, while musical entertainment comes in the form of Les Musicals, and Complete Madness. Circesque brings a revamped circus with incredible performances.

The Mercure Great Danes Hotel is holding a Bluebirds and Bugle Boys lunch party in a salute to the 1940s, and the Battle of Britain Air Show will fill the skies with Spitfires, Hurricanes and other aircraft of the period. Then enjoy a Hangar Dance with the Clefthangers 1940s Big Band.

You don’t need to be an expert dancer to enjoy Kent Life’s Family Friendly Barn Dance. Anyone can take part, young or old, experienced or beginners and there will be indoor and outdoor play areas to keep little ones entertained.

The Big 7 Scooter Rally returns to the Hop Farm with live bands, DJs, vintage scooters and more. And if it’s music you’re after, then head to the Ramblin Man’ Fair in Mote Park right at the end of the month.

There’s still time to catch the fabulous ‘Inking Woman’ exhibition at Maidstone Museum. Showcasing the work of 100 British cartoon and comic artists, this exhibition demonstrates that women have always had a wicked sense of humour and a perceptive view of the world.

Budding young cartoonists can get handy tips and inspiration from the renowned cartoonist and author, Gary Northfield (most famous for his Julius Zebra book series), as he leads two Cartoon Workshops at the Museum - perfect for 7 - 11 year olds.

Celebrate the best produce of the season at this month’s Museum Lates: Cherry Ripe & Kentish Wares. Explore a range of stalls selling crafts and delicious local produce and hear from the curators about Maidstone’s role as the centre of Cherry Brandy production!

See what else is coming up in Maidstone this June.
