In light of the current COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, following government advice, our accommodation, visitor attractions, restaurants and cafes are currently closed, and events have been cancelled or postponed for the forseeable future.
We value all our businesses and want to ensure the health and wellbeing of everyone. Both Visit Maidstone and our member businesses are continually revising policies in line with the latest advice from Central Government.
Over the coming weeks we will be in close contact with our member businesses, devising clear action plans in accordance to new guidance from the Government. According to Gov.uk the risk to the UK for coronavirus has been raised to high.
Social distancing is especially important for people who:
- Are over 70
- Have a long-term condition
- Are pregnant
- Have a weakened immune system
To avoid catching coronavirus DO:
- Wash your hands with soap and water often (for 20 seconds of more)
- Use hand sanitiser if soap and water are not available
- Sneeze and cough into a tissue (or the inside elbow if not possible). Put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands
DO NOT:
- Touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean
