Heart of Kent Walking Festival

The festival is all about enjoying walking, meeting new people and will take place in some of the most beautiful and unique landscapes.

The Festival

The 2024 festival is now over, but there are guided walks taking place during the year and you can find out about them here. Or try out one of the self-guided walks, going at your own pace and when it suits you.

The Heart of Kent Walking Festival will return next Spring and again it will be spread over 10 days with many wonderful walks to choose from to explore the beauty that Kent has to offer.

Sustainable Transport and Walking

With sustainability in mind many of the walks will start close to train stations and bus routes. This means you can leave your car at home and enjoy the journey. The train lines travel through some beautiful countryside so all you have to do is relax.

About the Festival Organisers

The 2024 festival was a collaboration of organisations, led by Visit Maidstone from Maidstone Borough Council and include: Explore Kent, Medway Valley Countryside Partnership, Kent Community Rail Partnership, Long Distance Walks Association, Walk Wild, Balfour Winery, History Hikers, Boots on Adventures, Hike South East, Augustine Camino, Kenward Trust and others.
