Biddenden Vineyards is Kent’s oldest commercial vineyard, established by the Barnes family in 1969. Original plantings of 1/3 acre have now grown to 23 acres, producing White, Red, Rosé and Sparkling English Wine. Many have won prestigous awards and you will be sure of an excellent welcome, and it is a wonderful discovery in the Kent countryside.
Biddenden Vineyard is also known for producing the famous Biddenden Cider, a strong, still cider produced from a blend of Kentish culinary and dessert apples, along with Biddenden Farm Pressed juices.
New for 2019 has been the introduction of sharing platters. These can be either cheese or charcuterie based and are made up of locally produced food and can be enjoyed with a glass of Biddenden Wine or one of the fantastic fruit juices, or both.
The wines, ciders and juice are consistent award winners, including being past winners of the United Kingdom Vineyard Association English Wine of the Year, Taste of Kent Awards, CAMRA Cider of the Year and medal winners at the Decanter World Wine Awards and South East Vineyard Association Awards and in 2019 their Gribble Bridge White won a gold medal at the Sommelier Wine Awards.
Open to visitors all year round with free admissions and tastings of all our products. Visitors can book onto our Free Tours for small groups via phone or email. The vineyard shop stocks not only Biddenden products but also a large range of regional produce including traditionally reared beef.
Annual events at Biddenden Vineyard include our Food and Drink day in early June, promoting the Best of Produced in Kent in aid of our chosen charities and the Christmas shop from the beginning of November to noon 24th December.
