Celebrate Print Day in May with this lino print upcycling clothes workshop with Creative Maidstone’s lead artist Christie.
During this workshop, you will get to pick from a wide selection of pre-carved printing blocks that were made by Christie. She will also guide you step by step through the printing process, from plotting designs to inking up and using our printing press.
What to expect:
* This activity will take around 30 minutes and will be on a first come first serve basis
* You will get to plot out your own design from pre-cut lino stamps
* ink up the block
* Use a printing press
WHAT YOU GET
As well as the new printmaking skills that you can continue beyond the session, you will also get to take home all your new jazzed-up clothes made during the session.
LEVEL:
This workshop is ideal for anyone aged 8 years and over, including adults! It is suitable for any ability and no previous experience is necessary, just enthusiasm! We will be using fine motor skills, such as using a roller.
PLEASE NOTE:
* If you plan to bring your own garment, it needs to be made of at least 40% natural fibres like cotton, linen or denim, or the ink will not stick to the fabric.
* We only accept card payments.
