Timothy Leek is an artist, photographer, film maker and teacher. He has spent over a decade teaching in adult education and runs workshops for adult learners, schools, youth centres and community groups that encourage and explore creativity through photography. These workshops not only cover technical aspects of photography but also explore the creative side and the performative nature of the medium. The sessions are relaxed, practical, and open to anyone—whether you’re just starting out or looking to learn new skills and improve your photography. It's also a great opportunity to gain encouragement, meet like minded people and share images and inspiration.
Look Up - Maidstone
Join Tim for a photowalk around Maidstone town centre to create some architectural and street photography. We will begin with a brief workshop in Creative Maidstone to give you some instruction on how to get the best out of your specific camera gear, selecting focal lengths, focussing techniques and controlling your exposure. You will then have the opportunity to take a tour around Maidstone town centre taking time to stop and refine your photography. Tim will offer you guidance and instruction throughout to help improve your images and troubleshoot any problems. We will then return to the Hub to share what you have created and discuss how you might continue to improve your photography.
What do I need to bring?
This workshop is open to anyone with a camera (digital or analogue), if you have a tripod please bring this with you. Any other gear (eg. filters) you would like to learn with please bring that too, but just a camera is fine. Please note we won’t have time to do any lighting work on this workshop. We will be outside in the local area, so please bring clothing appropriate to the weather conditions on the day.
