Maidstone is marking Armed Forces Day by holding a flag raising ceremony on Monday 22nd June in Jubilee Square at 10.30am
About Armed Forces Day
Armed Forces Day is a national opportunity to recognise the contribution of serving personnel, veterans, reservists, cadets and their families. It takes place annually on the last Saturday in June (27 June in 2026).
It forms part of Armed Forces Week, when communities across the UK come together to show their support and appreciation through events, ceremonies and public displays.
What Maidstone Borough Council is doing
Maidstone Borough Council will once again mark Armed Forces Day by showing support for the borough’s strong military community, including personnel from Invicta Park Barracks.
Maidstone has a long and proud association with the Armed Forces, with barracks in the borough and a strong history of military service across local communities.
Events like the flag raising also build on the borough’s ongoing support for the Armed Forces community, including its wider commitments through the Armed Forces Covenant.
