About

The Hermitage Millennium Amphitheatre, located along the River Medway, is a charming outdoor stage surrounded by trees and roses, inspired by the style of Roman Amphitheatres. It was designed and built in 2000, however it was resurfaced in 2021, creating a revived presence to the area.

With tiered seating, a convenient location within close proximity to Maidstone Town Centre and a delightful scenic setting, it is an ideal location for drama, theatre and music performances. This space is free to use but if you are hoping to perform or host an event here, it is important to book the space to ensure exclusive use. There has been a number of theatre companies having used this space for outdoor performances and due to there being two entrances to the site, ticketing is definitely possible.

There is no parking on site however there is parking nearby at locations such as Mill Street, Palace Avenue and College Road.

There are no toilet services at the site, but portable toilets can be placed near the main entrance for events.

There is an electrical box on site, which is useful for some added lighting, however the location is close to residential properties therefore no amplified music is permitted.

The Amphitheatre has a seating capacity of about 250 people.
