Visit Venues – then Book

On average couples start planning one and half years before the big day.  It is very important get the wedding venue secured early, so make appointments with selected venues and visit them to discuss your vision.

Okay so this bit is not exciting but weddings are a massive expensive so this can give you peace of mind if anything goes wrong.

The Wedding Party and Guest List

Assuming you had a good idea of your number before you booked the venue, then the decision will be about day and evening guests, and the spend per head.

Secure your suppliers

The best suppliers will get book up, so make sure that band or DJ you really want is booked. Find the caterer that will serve the type of food you want. Take advice for your venue as they will have knowledge of reliable suppliers. Is there a particular photographer you want? Also consider the day of the week if you intend to have specialist hair and makeup and book it well in advance

Create a Schedule for the Day

This gives you, the venue, and your suppliers timings to work from.
