Maidstone Shopping
Many a treat can be found in Kent's County Town in Maidstone's tremendous array of shops.
Use the shop search facility on the menu on the right to find out about specific shopping areas.
When it comes to Maidstone shopping centres and shops, you have plenty of choice. Leading off the High Street, is Week Street, the main pedestrianed shopping street. From here you can easily wander into Fremlin Walk, a stylish open air shopping centre where you will find many well known high street brands. The Mall Chequers, a spacious indoor shopping centre, can be accessed off King Street.
Maidstone also boast one of the largest selection of independent retailers in the country. There is a eclectic mix of businesses from jewellers to kitchenware, gifts to ladieswear that can be found in the many ancient streets. Wander through the Royal Star Arcade, or down the historic Bank Street, Gabriel's Hill, or Market Buildings. Stop off for a bite to eat in the many restaurants that can be found in Earl Street, or find some unique shops in Pudding Lane or Union Street.
On the other side of the River Medway, you can find St. Peter's Wharf, the Broadway Shopping Centre, and twice a week, Maidstone Market.
Of course, with a superb location in the heart of Kent, Maidstone you may wish to visit one of the local farmers's markets and buy some of the local produce.
Most shops are open Monday - Saturday from 09.00 until 17.30 and Sunday 11.00 until 16.30 Many shops are now also open for Late Night Shopping every Thursday until 20.00
Maidstone has many car parks in the Town Centre, or you may prefer to use the excellent park and ride service.
