Maidstone and the surrounding countryside is a brilliant place to base yourself to enjoy some of the most exciting, interesting and creative experiences available in Kent.
In the air
Parachuting, helicopter tours, light aircraft flights are all available from Headcorn along with very unique experience of being able to undertake a flying weekend, starting with a Tiger Moth, moving up to a Harvard and culminating in a Spitfire flight over the in the Battle of Britain skies through Aero Legends.
Ballooning is also available from Leeds Castle.
All of these experiences are weather dependent.
On the ground
If you prefer you feet on terra firma then Go Karting on the brilliant and challenging track at Buckmore Park is a very exciting prospect, particularly as people like Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button started their careers here.
Alternatively you could take to the trees at Go-Ape with its high climbs through the canopy and zip wires.
Great fun is the Segway experience at Leeds Castle.
It is surprisingly easy to learn and offers both tours and cross country runs.
On the water
Mote Park Watersports Centre offers instruction in canoeing and sailing which is brilliant if you want to try out this out as a sport before you head out to sea or along the river.
If you are up for an adventure then you can try the canoe safari or alternatively one of the Allington Belle’s day boats for hire.
If you adventures are more in need of creative fulfilment then try some of the amazing courses at This Art of Mine, or perhaps one of the photography courses at the Big Cat Encounter at the Wildlife Heritage Foundation, where you can get up close to these beautiful creatures.
