About

Kent Life Heritage Farm Park from Kent Life on Vimeo.

Kent Life is a vibrant and fun destination with a whole host of family friendly attractions across its 28 acre site, offering a great day out for everyone. Whether you want to learn about Kent history, get up close with farm animals, or simply burn off some steam, this is a great place to visit.

Each season brings new and exciting things to the farm, so whatever time of year you chose to visit, there is always something different to discover.

Kent Life features the only working coal-fired Oast House which is fired up in the autumn for drying hops and the traditional process of beer making begins. There are also lots of family friendly farm animals, play and picnic areas, a wonderful vintage tea room, historic houses and other buildings to explore.

The easy to reach location, just off the M20 at Junction 6, makes Kent Life Heritage Farm easily accessible by car or from Maidstone East Station, either a short taxi ride, or a trip on the Kentish Lady river boat, which makes for a more unique travelling style.

Visit the Vintage Village and explore what life would have been like during World War II by making your way through the houses and to the Anderson Shelter. The 1950s are well represented in Sandling Farmhouse, or step back in time to Petts Farmhouse from the Victorian era. The atmosphere in the Village Hall and the Church remain, through all the celebrations they have shared, a great sense of community and magic. A wonderful place to hold a vintage wedding or birthday gathering.

As a working farm, Kent Life showcases and breeds traditional farm animals including sheep, cows, pigs, horses, alpacas, rabbits, goats, ducks and chickens and the hands-on cuddle corner is always popular with little visitors. The Kent Owl Academy is now resident – take time out to visit the 12 different species, along with their lovely meerkats.

Events and entertainment run all year, join in with some of the seasonal farm jobs such as bottle feeding lambs and goat kids, animal feeding or grooming sessions.

The Play Area

Indoor and outdoor play areas amuse and generate a lot of fun; donkey rides, the paint-a-pot studio, tractor and land train rides, bouncy castle, and much more bring a uniqueness to the experience at Kent Life. During school holidays, special shows run in the indoor Big Top – included in standard admission prices.

Seasonal Events

Open all seasons, events and activities run all year round especially during holidays and weekends. Annual events to look forward include the Spring Sheep Show, Hops and Harvest Beer Festival, Apple and Cider Fayre, Firework Night and award winning Experience Christmas at Kent Life.

Tea Rooms and Refreshments

Finish your visit with a trip to Dotty’s Tea Room, which has great home-made cakes and a selection of hot and cold snacks, and is decorated in a 1950’s vintage style or sit in the shade under fruit trees in the garden.  Enjoy that mmmmm.. of a lovely hot cup of tea.
