The Assembly Hall Theatre

The Assembly Hall Theatre is a 1,000 seat theatre hosting a range of shows from family shows to classical music including some legendary musical performers, comedy acts, dance events and pantomimes.

The programme has continued to develop in recent years securing top West End musicals and drama.

The theatre has been a much loved and valued venue in the heart of Royal Tunbridge Wells for nearly seventy-five years, and is renowned for attracting diverse audiences from the borough and beyond.

The Assembly Hall Theatre caters for all tastes showing a wide variety and range of performances including: Classical & Opera; Comedy; Dance; Family events; Music; Musicals; Spoken Word and Drama. So there is bound to be an event just for you!

The Assembly Hall Theatre also provides food and drink that is available an hour before the show begins.

The Assembly Hall Theatre is part of the Go! Card scheme run by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, that enables people who have limited incomes to see performances at reduced rates. In addition to this discounts are offered to children, students and people over 60.


The Assembly Hall Theatre strives to ensure that everyone is able to fully experience the entertainment at the theatre and consequently has special facilities to meet the needs of all theatre goers. This includes free tickets for carers helping wheelchair users.  They also arrange signed performances and audio enhancement for select shows in the programme.
