Canoeing on the River Medway

Maidstone is delighted to be able to offer a great new aspect to the countryside, which is travelling by canoe along the River Medway.  This can be done in either open canoes or kayaks.  Obviously it is much safer to have some instruction if you had not taken part in this sport before and in consequence this can be organised with Kent Canoes.  Dates run throughout the season at different levels and also safari type tours which offers both an interest aspect to the countryside and to the wildlife.  Kent Canoes offer all the relevant safety gear, canoes and instructors to ensure you have an enjoyable time. 

For those who are already proficient canoeist, canoes and equipment can be hired locally.  The Medway now has a Canoe Trail with Porter's locks enabling better passage.  This is a two day trail with campsites and places to stay along the route.
