Ideas for Group Visitors
Many visitors stay in Maidstone because of its central location in Kent to enable them to reach some of the spectacular castles and gardens. Hever Castle, Leeds Castle and Sissinghurst Castle are just a few which remain immensley popular. Lovely gardens such as Iden Croft Herbs, Beech Court, Hole Park and Lullingstone Garden of the World are fabulous visits for plantsmen.
Some of the lesser known attractions are very interesting, such as All Saints Church with its links to Washington, The Tyrwitt Drake Carriage Museum, with the largest collection of horse drawn carriages in England and Kent Life with its displays in traditional Kentish farmhouses, depicting different periods in history.
Discovering the River Medway on the Kentish Lady or the Allington Belle offers a totally different pespective to the town, its history and to the countryside which surrounds the area.
If your group would like more activity then Go Ape at Leeds Castle, Buckmore Park Karting or canoeing on the river might be more appropriate and it is often great fun.
