The Yew Tree Inn is a historic country pub, which was first recorded as a Public House in 1782 and is steeped in history. The original yew tree is at least 400 years old and gives shade to our sunny front terrace. In the bar area, there are original photographs of years gone by, when the yew tree was topiary shaped and the photographs of the pub date back as far as 1881, together with leaflets, booklets and newspapers for public interest, with books and games for children of all ages.
The ‘Yew Tree Inn’ is set in the village of Sandling at the foot of the picturesque North Downs in the Kent countryside, an area of outstanding natural beauty. There are many lovely walks in and around Sandling and Boxley including the Pilgrims Way and Cuckoo Woods. There are also many places of interest which can be found within a short walking distance or drive away, these include, Tyland Barn, Boxley Abbey, Archbishops Palace, Maidstone Museum, Mote Park and the Bentlif Art Gallery. Also, the Friary at Aylesford, Allington Castle and the fabulous Leeds Castle is only 6 miles away. Although the name suggests, the ‘Yew Tree Inn’ does NOT have rooms to let. For those that wish to stop over, the Village Hotel is in walking distance, with B&B’s and Kits Koty Glamping a very short drive away.
The ‘Yew Tree Inn’ is now a Free house with a restaurant, serving freshly prepared home cooked food, bar meals, conditioned real ales, fine wines and a large selection of single malt whisky’s and brandy’s. Our opening hours and serving times for food are available on our website, together with our theme nights and events. www.theyewtreesandling.co.uk
The pub and restaurant has recently been refurbished, keeping the old world charm and character of the building, bringing it back to its’ former glory. There is plenty of parking and a well maintained pretty garden.
At the ‘Yew Tree Inn’, all of our customers, including our locals, diners, ramblers and dog walkers alike, all receive a very warm welcome from Tracy and Jim.
